Govt allows Gazprom sell LNG to private companies at free prices
MOSCOW, Dec 11 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has allowed gas giant Gazprom to sell liquefied natural gas on the domestic market to private consumers at free prices, according to a statement published on the government’s website late Monday.
The current legislation sets the same price for wholesale LNG and natural gas and does not account for Gazprom’s additional costs for liquefaction and transportation till package.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said, “Application of market prices will help satisfy the rising solvent demand for this good and will stimulate fulfillment of investment projects in gasification with LNG. In general, it will favor higher competition on the energy market.”
